Since both the core and the clad consist of fluoride glass, the fibers exhibit excellent transparency over the wavelengths of 0.35 ~ 4.0 μm. Therefore, they are the best selection of the optical guides for near- and mid-infrared spectroscopy. The fiber bundles and fiber cords can be provided as well as the bare fibers.
